Jakub Józef Orliński

Music for a While

The film consists in the portrayal of Polish countertenor Jakub Jósef Orliński, through three facets of his art, evoked through three countries. New York is where his singing career took off; Warsaw is where he sang the Lied with piano accompaniment; finally, Venise, where he performed Baroque arias with the ensemble Il Pomo d’Oro. Each of these cities will also bring out an aspect of his personality: his training at the Juilliard School, his native city and his intimate circle, finally his current career as a star opera singer. The whole film will interspersed with breakdance, which Orliński has been doing for years, as well as video excerpts filmed by himself, which will be integrated into the narrative of the film, like a dialogue between platforms and formats designed to brush an intimate and digital portrait, with multiple viewpoints.
